"Winterreise" - Franz Schubert

"Wüstenschrei" - Isabel Pfefferkorn

Isabel Pfefferkorn, mezzo-soprano

Isabel Pfefferkorn is a highly gifted lieder singer, and in her interpretations, she can draw on a color spectrum that is impressive, even more so when you consider her youthful age. Angelika Kirchschlager
Born in Austria in 1991, Isabel Pfefferkorn began violin lessons at the age of four before going on to study cello, piano and voice.  In 2013 she received the Wagner scholarship and was recently the youngest finalist in the International Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau, Germany. Isabel studied at the Zurich University of the Arts, receiving her Master’s degree with distinction in vocal performance. She is a member the School of Excellence at the Basel Music Academy.

Her vocal experience was enriched by Masterclasses with Thomas Hampson, Angelika Kirchschlager and Christa Ludwig. As a soloist and chamber musician Isabel has appeared with several orchestras including Sinfonieorchester Liechtensein and has been a popular guest at international festivals such as Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, Vaduz Classic and Schubertiade Schwarzenberg. In addition to the classical voice repertoire, Isabel’s spectrum includes pop, jazz and contemporary music. In 2017, she made her debut in the Konzerthaus Wien, performing Pierre Boulez’s “Le marteau sans maître“ to excellent reviews.

Hanna Bachmann, pianist

Hanna Bachmann plays with great musicality, creativity and technical skill. Her delicate sound and her interpretation are a testament to a mature personality at the piano.- Kirill Petrenko, General Music Director, Bavarian State Opera, Chief Conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic

Hanna Bachmann was accepted as a student of Ferenc Bognar’s class at the Vorarlberg State Conservatory in Feldkirch at the age of twelve, before moving to Florian Krumpöck in Vienna. She then studied with Pavel Gililov at the Mozarteum Salzburg, where she completed both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with distinction.  In addition to claiming numerous top prizes at international piano competitions, Hanna is also a proud recipient of the Vorarlberg Richard-Wagner Scholarship.

At 27, Ms. Bachmann is internationally recognized with upcoming solo engagements with the Sinfonietta Vorarlberg, a debut with the Berlin Philharmonic as well as concert tours to Great Britain, the United States and Canada. She has performed at Beethoven House Bonn, Vienna Musikverein, Blüthner Concert Series Vienna and the well-established summer festival Kultursomm, Semmerin.  Her successful 2018 Americas debut in Mexico with the Orquesta Sinfónica de San Luis Potosí under the baton of José Miramontes Zapata, resulted in rave reviews for her performances.

Her latest CD’s Hanna Bachmann, Piano, - Janacek, Beethoven, Ullmann and Schumann and Plaisanteries -  Mozart, Beethoven and Prokofiev have been enthusiastically reviewed by the music press.
